My Experience with Givsly
Givsly is a purpose-driven advertising and marketing company that helps brands align their values with those of their customers, fostering positive social and environmental impact. Through its innovative solutions, Givsly enables businesses to integrate charitable giving and sustainability into their marketing strategies.
I began my work with Givsly in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. While other people my age were making TikToks and lamenting about having nothing to do, I used that time to gain valuable work experience while still in high school. During this time, I assisted Givsly in updating and organizing their nonprofit database. My responsibilities included organizing and updating client records in the Givsly Non Profit database to ensure the information was accurate and easy to navigate. I also sourced missing client contact details through independent research, verifying them through reputable sources to ensure the information was correct and up-to-date.
In 2022, Givsly gave me the opportunity to join them at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, better known as Cannes Lions, a global event that celebrates and awards creativity in advertising, marketing, and related fields hosted in Cannes, France. During this time, I helped set up and organize The Impact Hub—the Givsly space where Givsly and their partners collaborate on purpose-driven marketing solutions. I supported the organization of the event space by ensuring seamless client experiences, including managing hospitality needs, sourcing last-minute supplies, and maintaining the readiness of all event spaces.
In 2024, I returned to Cannes Lions with Givsly, where I expanded my responsibilities to filming and creating social media content for Givsly, showcasing The Impact Hub, the events Givsly was hosting, and capturing the day-to-day moments of Givsly’s presence at Cannes Lions. I created content to advertise Givsly’s presence at the festival and amplify both brand visibility and event engagement. During this time, I also filmed branded video content for Givsly client Flowcode, further supporting their marketing efforts. Additionally, Givsly brought their Karaoke for Causes initiative to Cannes, raising $50,000 for nonprofit organizations.
This year marked the third chapter of my Cannes Lions experience with Givsly to further support their initiatives in purpose-driven marketing. This year, I continued contributing to the success and expansion of Givsly’s Impact Hub while deepening my involvement in content creation. I captured and produced dynamic social media reels and immersive 360-degree video footage of Givsly’s Karaoke for Causes event, helping amplify the initiative’s energy and mission across digital platforms. Being part of a team that leads the industry in meaningful change continues to inspire me, and I’m proud to help share that impact with a broader social media audience.
Reflecting on the past five years, I’m incredibly grateful to the Givsly team for the trust, mentorship, and opportunities they’ve extended to me since the very beginning. From organizing client information in Givsly’s database during the pandemic to capturing unforgettable moments at Cannes Lions, each experience has shaped my growth both professionally and personally. Being part of Givsly’s mission to make marketing more purposeful has been an inspiring journey, and I carry with me a deep appreciation for everything I’ve learned and everyone I’ve worked alongside. I look forward to seeing how Givsly continues to lead with impact, and I’m thankful to have played even a small part in that story.
